Bamboo Flute

The elderly Japanese couple next door have an impressive bamboo hedge that periodically needs trimming.

The latest haul had some nice diameter bamboo, so I decided to make a bamboo flute.

They are fairly easy to make, and are fun to try to tune right, but this thing is awful hard to blow on the lower notes.

Bamboo cane..... mjwhitte... NewPal, IN 19Feb2005 3:34 PM (6 years 355 days ago) Split up the cane and make bassoon reeds! You used to play, don'cha know.... Can't be too far off from the French stuff..... A fan p.s. I've got access to a relatively new, little-used Fox b'soon for the bargain basement price of only $8000. Interested??
