Potato vine at night

I dug out the sexy old 85mm F1.4 manual chunk of glass and stuck it on the D70 this evening. I read a bunch of Ken Rockwell's essays today about the trick to getting lovely colors in night photograhy (take the pictures just after dusk is the summary).

While the subject matter here isn't all that Earth shattering, the point about balancing the sky exposure with what artificial light's available is taken.

Getting focus is a trick with a manual lense in a dark backyard - blast it with the million candlepower handheld.

This is a 1 second shot at F2.0 and handheld spotlight painting to light up the flowering climber.
