How cheaply *can* one live..?

Just before I started getting a sense of quality control in my life, I lived in this wonderful little room for $50 per month.

Did I say "room"? I meant closet.

This nifty little area was 4 feet wide and 10 feet long - just enough enough for a mattress on the floor, and room for my $4,000 Quad Electrostatic Loudspeakers on either side of the mattress. Hence "The Headphone Room".

As miserable as such a place may sound, I rather enjoyed this time in my life. I spent all my money on stupid stuff, and all my time teaching myself how to restore a car.

rightfully omitted, i suppose . - missing 22Feb2002 1:51 PM (8 years 17 days ago) don't dis the 'headphone room'. for some, it was a perfect space at the time. the jackson five have never sounded so good as on those $4000 speakers...
