This is the view standing on the point looking back towards
the pasture-covered low mountains. | |

Walking down the short path from highway 1, the early spring wildflowers
are out and enjoying the high humidity and cool air. | |

Standing atop the cliff and looking left, one is greeted
by the faint sounds of sea lions calling and the more dominant
sound of waves crashing against the shore. | |

At the edge here is a short but steep set of steps
leading down to a rocky area 20 feet below the top of the cliff. | |

Here, down below the cliff, the rocks
are like flames - softened by time but still violent.
Sheltered somewhat, the wind here is not overpowering.
One could imagine a wedding taking place here... | |

Looking straight down, the waves 40 feet below beat on
the exposed rocks. Clumps of kelp bob in time. | |

is an amazing sheltered cove - apparently inaccessible
from here. I'll bet there's treasure buried down there. | |

Across highway 1 is the head of several trails
and an old barn. | |

Inexplicably, an ancient stand of cactii cling to the earth
just past some equally old pines. | |

About 2 miles South of Soberanes Point just past the famous
Bixby Bridge... The sun was finally breaking through the
cloud cover and a more dramatic spot could not be imagined.
And boy was it windy.

was blown away by your view of Soberanes
Point at Garrapata State Beach. Especially
amazed by the shot of the "Treasure Cave."
